ReflectionIn my college process, I didn't apply for any art programs, and I have no intention of pursuing art in college. Looking forward, I don't see art having a larger role in my career or in my studies than it does now. I like the concept of self-guided, studio-based studies, but I know that I wouldn't have the drive or passion to be willing to pursue it. Bailey, in UVA Architecture, was an interesting contrast to my own journey because he lost interest in politics after the 2016 election. I ended up discovering my interest in politics and government because of the 2018 election. When I was deciding on a major to declare for colleges, I tossed around the idea of art history as a path to studying law in provenance but never considered an art school or program. It was strange because I still had the experience of building a portfolio as a supplement for some colleges, Most everyone was driven by passion, so that confirmed my decision to not apply for art programs.
